BLACK TIE AUCTION
The fifth Annual Black Tie Auction sponsored by GHHS was held Thursday, October 8, 2015.
What a fabulous evening! Attendees were greeted and served a glass of champagne as they entered Government House. They were able to view and place their bids on the silent auction items before entering the Sir Richard Lake Hall. The excellent hors d’oeuvres, catered by Shannon from Indulgence, were enjoyed by the guests while viewing the live auction items and were entertained by Cameron Lowe on cellist and Judy Levesque on piano.
The live auction began shortly after 7:00 P.M. Our auctioneer, Jon Radcliffe, did a wonderful job and kept the crowd enthused with his humor throughout the evening.
During intermission, while our guests enjoyed wine and dessert, April Friars and her friend, Jessica Riley entertained us with saxophone & piano renditions of 50’s rock & roll.
We wish to thank our featured artist, Megan Hazel who designed beautifully recreated jewelry pieces using a combination of older pieces of jewelry.
On behalf of the Black Tie Committee I would like to thank all of the volunteers who helped to make this event a success, all of the attendees who we hope enjoyed the evening and were very supportive, the businesses and the many members of the community who donated items in support of the Society, and the Black Tie Committee members who succeeded in making this truly a Gala evening.
