Government House Historical Society is comprised of citizens committed to preserving history for future generations to appreciate and learn from. We are greatly saddened by the recent findings of injustice to the children and families who attended the Marieval Indian Residential School. As Canada endures the harsh truth of these atrocities, we truly hope that reconciliation and healing will be the outcome of these findings. It is impossible to rewrite the history of a nation but it is possible to acknowledge the wrongs of the past and create a better future for all. Our hearts go out to all Aboriginal Peoples across this nation. May they find comfort in the reconciliation process now and in the future.
